How do you ship? What does it cost? And what are your lead times?

We ship most individual orders in crates with FedEx ground service, right to your door. This costs anywhere from $125 to $275, dependent on weight.

Shipping prices are shown at checkout.

Standard lead times are 4 weeks for raw cast iron legs, 6 weeks for auto-lac, powder coated, or bronze plated legs.

How large is the mounting plate on your table legs?

All of our table legs share a universal mounting plate, which makes things that much simpler for you to plan your current project and the next one. Our mounting plate measures 6” x 14” and features a slotted six-hole mounting pattern to account for expansion and contraction of wood table tops.

What hardware should I use to install these table legs?

Short answer: Use these.

Longer answer: There are two options - threaded inserts or lag screws.

Lag screws are straightforward, but offer limited versatility for installs, disassembly, and shipping, and sometimes risk breakage in the tabletop itself. Threaded inserts provide a simple, clean option for consistent assembly and disassembly, while maximizing the strength available in a mounting joint.

Threaded inserts are available from most hardware stores and wood working stores, but our favorites come from Rampatec. We’re such big fans that we’ve partnered with them to become a US distributor for their products, with your use specifically in mind.

Do Raw Cast Iron legs need to be finished before installing them?

We recommend it. Cast iron loves to rust, so we recommend sealing your table legs from moisture before installing them on your table. Choosing the Raw Cast Iron option when purchasing will keep your costs low, but you’ll need to put in just a little more work when they arrive. Cast iron takes many finishes well - paint, wax, urethane, and shellac to name a few.

All that said, we offer all of our legs with auto-lac or powder coated finishes as well, for your convenience.

WishboneThicknessComparison.jpg

What’s the difference between the Double Thick Wishbone Legs and the Standard Wishbone Legs?

Our Standard Wishbones are 1.25” thick, and our Double Thick Wishbones are 2.5” thick. Both share the same profile, it’s just the thickness that differs. The thickness impacts weight as well - 45lb/leg in Standard, 70lb/leg for Double Thick.

The Standard Wishbones are a great option for many, if not most tables. The Double Thick Wishbones really shine with especially large tabletops - whether longer or thicker.

Proper proportion can really make or break an entire look. Offering both thicknesses allows you to choose what’s going to work the best for your project without having to sacrifice anything.

Are you open to doing custom work?

Yes! With a caveat… Custom work typically takes longer and costs more, which can keep things out of range for some customers. That said, we’re open to custom work, and we’d love to hear about your project, whether that’s a unique base, or a full table. And if spending a little extra time and money to make your dream a reality doesn’t worry you, all the better.

Do you offer trade discounts for designers?

Our pricing is structured to be as accessible as possible to all of our customers - home owners, makers, DIYers, and designers alike. We don’t discount any order unless it approaches bulk quantities of 10 pair or more. If you’re interested in placing orders of that size, by all means, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out directly.
