Threaded inserts are available from most hardware stores and wood working stores, but our favorites come from Rampatec. We recommend it. Cast iron loves to rust, so we recommend sealing your table legs from moisture before installing them on your table. Choosing the Raw Cast Iron option when purchasing will keep your costs low, but you’ll need to put in just a little more work when they arrive. Cast iron takes many finishes well - paint, wax, urethane, and shellac to name a few. The thickness impacts weight as well - 45lb/leg in Standard, 70lb/leg for Double Thick. The Standard Wishbones are a great option for many, if not most tables.
